ABOUT: uCap is a project aimed at empowering users and households in countries across the globe with the means to monitor their bandwidth usage and caps. Bandwidth and it's related concepts can appear to be quite abstract to most internet users. Hence, uCap is a way by wich these users can gain a sense of their monthly usage by tracking their badwidth consumption across a household. This is a joint effort by two teams at Georgia Tech - The GT NOISE Team managed by Dr. Nick Feamster and the Human Centered Computing team managed by Dr. Marshini Chetty. WHAT DID I DO: As a Graduate Research Assistant, I work with the Dr. Chetty to help design and implement the frontend interface for uCap. I'm primarily the frontend architect. TECHNOLOGY: HTML5, AJAX, CSS3 |

ABOUT: The BONIS project is part of a collaborative effort between teams in the United States, Spain and Paraguay to develop a Unified Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system that to be integrated with the existing Health System for Ministry of Health, Paraguay. The development entails the use of VoIP technology to help diagnose common communicable diseases in patients that have little or no access to health care facilities. The system will be fully automated and user-response based. WHAT DID I DO: I worked to develop the prototype for this project on a free IP-PBX solution by Asterisk. This website was also developed by me to act as a front end UI for the developers working together to either collaborate or gather information on the system. We hope to have a fully operational system by 2010. TECHNOLOGY: Joomla CMS (v1.5), PHP-AGI, Trixbox (Asterisk IP-PBX Platform), CentOS |

ABOUT: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world's largest technical professional society. It was founded in 1884 and today's Institute is comprised of more than 360,000 members who conduct and participate in its activities in 150 countries. Of those members 60,000 are from the student chapters. The Student Branch of IEEE at Christian Brothers University is taking steps to get students active in IEEE and participate in the many exciting opportunities that are available through this organization. WHAT DID I DO: In 2008, my design for the IEEE Student website was placed 1st among student branches in Region 3 of IEEE and 7th Internationally. So, in 2008, I decided to be further creative and redesigned this website from scratch. The website was again placed 1st in Region 3. ABOUT: Pirate Radio was originally an offspring of "The CBU Initiative" project led by the Honors Program Integrative Seminar class of 2008. It was launched on April 21 2008. The project eventually came to an end when the founders went their seperate ways after graduation. However, in early 2009, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) at CBU, under my leadership came up with a plan to take on the project and rededicate it to the CBU Community. WHAT DID I DO: I developed this project using SAM Broadcaster, an interactive and powerful streaming software. Shoutcast Radio Server was used to broadcast the radio stream to the entire CBU Campus. A website was then developed to act as the front end of this project. The website facilitated interaction between the students and radio team. Sadly, I graduated shortly before the launch of this project. TECHNOLOGY: Joomla CMS (v1.0), PHP, AJAX, ShoutCast Radio Server, SAM Broadcaster |

ABOUT: In late 2007 the IEEE Memphis Section joined forces with 6 engineering schools, 5 engineering disciplines, and a host of professionals and volunteers to organize the region's first Student-Professional Awareness Conference (S-PAC). The goal of the conference is to unite students and professionals to learn, network, and grow by interacting with each other through non-technical presentations by speakers from different parts of the country. WHAT DID I DO: I designed this website & logo in 2007 to help disseminate information about the upcoming S-PAC conference to students, professionals, educators and sponsors. The website allowed attendees to purchase tickets and register for the event. The website accounted for over 95% of all registered attendees and sponsors.
